Hello everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday season with your family! I miss the snow we had, but not the cold!
We
are returning to the atrium this Sunday (January 8), 9:30 -10:45 a.m.
Hope you will join us! I planned to do the "Visitation" presentation,
but since it is Epiphany, I may give the "Adoration of the Wisemen"
presentation to the children, then do Visitation on an upcoming week.
Because of holiday schedules, we don't often meet on Epiphany, so I
wanted to grab the opportunity to give the presentation on the actual
celebration date. Plus, I have some beautiful containers filled with
gold, frankincense and myrrh, and the children love seeing and smelling
them! (Very sensory presentation!) The SJA Moms are also sponsoring a
"Donut Sunday Social" after the 9:30 a.m. Mass, built around the theme
of Epiphany. So I thought it would be good to reinforce this wonderful
celebration in the atrium!
Our schedule for January and February
is a little crazy--we have a couple of weeks off due to holidays,
Catholic Schools Week, etc. Here is our schedule for the next two months:
Jan 8 - CGS session: Adoration of the Magi. Donut Sunday Social sponsored by SJA Moms. Theme: Epiphany
Jan. 15 - NO SESSION - Martin Luther King Weekend (Catechists and Junior Helpers will have a meeting from 9:30 -11 a.m.)
Jan. 22 - CGS session: Infancy Narratives: Visitation
Jan. 29 - NO SESSION - PAR is being used for Catholic Schools Week events
Feb. 5 - CGS session: Kingdom Parables Presentation: Precious Pearl
Feb. 12 - CGS session: Kingdom Parables Presentation: Hidden Treasure or Leaven.
also possibly a Donut Sunday social sponsored by SJA Moms after 9:30 a.m. MassFeb. 19 - NO SESSION - Presidents' Holiday Weekend;
Feb. 26 - CGS session: Good Shepherd Presentation-Found Sheep. Bury Alleluia's. (March 1 is Ash Wednesday)
also possibly a Donut Sunday social sponsored by SJA Moms after 9:30 a.m. Mass (if not held on Feb. 12)

We
have some wonderful, meaningful presentations coming up for the
children! Please try to make it a priority to have your children attend
each Sunday that we are in session. When they attend regularly, you
will find that they are calmer, happier and more able to focus on small
tasks. In our loud, confused world, they need and crave the quiet,
meditative time in the atrium to refresh their souls!

Blessings,
Cheryl
